NPA Regional Council Announces Search for New CEO
Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council Mayor Rob Poi Poi has today announced that the Council has made a decision to seek a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation.
In making this announcement, Mayor Poi Poi acknowledged the contribution made by the current CEO Kate Gallaway.
“Kate has supported both the previous Council and also the new Council which was elected in 2024. We certainly wish her well in her future endeavors,” said Mayor Poi Poi.
Council has also agreed to immediately commence the recruitment process for its new CEO.
“We would like to have a new CEO selected and in place as soon as possible,” said Mayor Poi Poi.
The Mayor acknowledged that a decision to change leadership at the Council was not made lightly but the Council believed that a change was necessary.
Mayor Poi Poi noted that an interim CEO will be in place to guide the Council through the transition period.
“We are fortunate to have Lew Rojahn agree to step into the interim CEO role to keep us on track in this transition period,” Mayor Poi Poi said.
“Lew was already in the NPARC community helping out Council on a temporary basis and he has experience as a CEO at a number of other Queensland Councils.
“He will be a steady and experienced interim CEO and myself and the Councillors look forward to working with Lew as we undertake our recruitment processes for our permanent CEO.”
